1) Julia and Dax have been going into their room to play each evening around 4:30pm or so. I don't know why, but I love it. Dax shuts the door and they can't get it open. So I just leave them in there while I cook dinner. :) After about 45 minutes, I'll hear some crying so I go let them out.
Last Thursday (May 28th), I heard a loud thump and then both kids squawking. By the time I got in there, everyone had calmed down, but Julia kept telling me, "I soap hands, Mommy. I soap hands." I smelled her hands and they did smell kind of like soap. So, I asked her to show me where she had gotten the soap. And she did ...

She had hand sanitizer, not soap, but the accomplishment isn't lessened by the mistake. I think the thud came because Dax was trying to climb up after her and when she went to get down, she accidentally kicked him over and then lost her balance. In the pictures, I'm having to wrestle him to the side while Dave takes the photos. He was MAD that he wasn't allowed to stand on the barn and try to climb up the bookcase with Julia.
2) Yesterday I came into the kids' room to get them up for the day and found this:

Need a closer look?

Julia jumped on her bed so hard that she broke one of the mattress supports.
So instead of going to the grocery store as I had planned, I spent the morning taking apart her crib and cleaning behind and underneath it. I found the strangest things ...

I don't have any idea how that zebra got stuck to the wall like that or how long she'd been there. But I cleaned her up and put her back in the ark where she belongs. And now Julia has a "new" bed.

And it will probably come back to bite me, but she did very well during nap time and last night. For nap, I told her that she'd be resting in her New Bed and she was to stay there until Mommy came to get her. I peeked in after an hour and she was lying in bed reading books. When I peeked in an hour later, she was fast asleep on the mattress. However, Dax sleeps in our room during nap time so the real test would be how nighttime went!
And it went fine. We put her to bed and even though she talked to Dax, she didn't get up to poke at him or bother him at all. And she slept through the night. Dave said this morning that it's hard to believe Our Girl is big enough to sleep in a bed, well, not in a crib!
The first thing she said when I went in the morning (she was over by Dax's bed this morning!) was "I sleep my new bed, Mommy!"
We'll see how it goes once the newness wears off and she discovers she can roam around :)

awww... her new bed! That's a big deal. :)
It's pretty funny that you have pictures of her climbing up to the shelf. She didn't even seem to mind that she had been caught!
