Random Requests

1) I'm updating the kids' wishlists on Amazon and can find a million and one things for Julia, but am having trouble with Dax. Any suggestions for the nine month age range (he'll be nine and a half months around Christmas time)? Things he likes: sitting up, crawling, figuring out how to walk, grabbing his sister's hair, following us around, chewing on crayons, tearing books. Things he does not like: being left alone, sitting still, taking medicine.

2) Does anyone want to come over and teach me how to make pie crust? Or learn how to make pie crust with me? I guess you could send me tips, but I'd rather have the company.

3) Does anyone else get little grease spots on clothing that refuse to come out in the wash? I don't remember ever having this problem before kids. I don't think I've become that messy of an eater. And I don't believe drool has that kind of staying power. At least I hope not.

Hmmm. Not sure what to say about 9 month old gifts. Megan had a bubble machine at about that age that she liked, but she didn't really play with it, just the room of bubbles that it created.

I would love to come over to make pie crust - I made my first last year. But with gas prices the way they are, I can probably only give you virtual company for this event!

No, and now I have discovered a new one, a weird mold that grows on the messy food if not washed quickly enough (gross) which I have bleached and soaked and generally yelled at a lot! Good luck and let me know what you find!

Thanks. We have a bubble machine. Julia likes it, too. This is sort of the story of all the things I'm finding ... we already have it. Which means we're extremely blessed, but also means that Our Boy is going to end up getting a high chair, some bibs and toothbrushes for Christmas. I guess this is the year I could get away with that.

I'd love to have you show me how to make pie crust. We have your marinara in our freezer. Yummy stuff.

And Gross.

Hint taken. See you Sunday. Decide what kind of pie you want to make. If I get to choose it'll be blackberry. Got ice cream around? We can't eat pie without it.

A few toy suggestions (although I'm not sure what Julia/you all already have):
- Hasbro Playskool Step Start Walk 'n Ride (or another activity walker)
- Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics - - Baby's First Blocks (a classic)
- LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table (Elena STILL plays with hers)
- Fisher-Price Rock-A-Stack (another classic - Elena plays with it still, just not in the expected way)
- Sock Monkey Jack in the Box (never seen this before, but I want one!)
- Thomas and Friends Bathtub Squirters
- iPlay Little Tuffies Trucks (or some other trucks/planes/"manly" things...hehe)
- Spin'n Play Center
- Any outside toys?

Man, I hadn't thought how hard buying toys for second children might be if the first already has plenty of toys... hmm?

Sorry I can't join in on the pie crust making festivities - sounds fun! Also, if you find an answer to #3, please post to your blog for all of us frustrated mothers. :)

Jamie-I'll make ice cream ... what flavor? We'll be making cherry pie ... or possibly apple ... maybe peach.

Angela-I started to comment back, it got too long. Check your personal email account :)

Toys for Dax...whatever Julia is holding.

I would love to come learn to make pie crusts with you...I would love to get out of the house. For any reason. ;)

Zout. I swear by it.

I'm going to keep an eye on this since Loden is only a few months ahead of Dax. Loden is 9 1/2 months now... We don't have a lot of "toy" toys. He still likes water bottles filled to various levels ;) First blocks sounded good and he does like his RockaStack. Books are always good - do ya'll have any of those books by Matthew Van Fleet (Tails, Dog, etc...)? And he likes anything that makes noise unfortunately - like rythum sticks. He is starting to get interested in balls and loves a soft football that is his size. Seseme Street makes a cool Elmo play remote but Loden still prefers the actual TV remote - no fooling this guy ;) Good Luck.
