*sigh*

Ah, yes, these are my kids ...

You watch as your girl joyously splashes her hands in the stagnant water that has been sitting in your emptied flower pots. Then you watch her giggle madly as she throws the dog's slimy ball off the deck more times than you care to count. Then you see her sleepy eyes and big yawn as she toddles toward you and sticks her thumb in her mouth. Blech.

And as you remember all the times you frowned at pictures of babies snoozing away on their tummies and thought bad things about their parents who obviously ignored the overwhelming advice of the American Academy of Pediatrics that babies should sleep on their backs to help avoid SIDS, you realize that maybe those parents just had a baby like yours and would do anything at 3 am (or any other time) to get him to sleep ...

As for Julia, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Just think of the immunities she is building! (urgh, it still makes you flinch, though, doesn't it?)

And to aid you in your self esteem...all three of mine are tummy sleepers by the middle of their second week. Or sooner. Because after two weeks of co-sleeping (you didn't hear me say that) I need them to sleep on their own.

It's all good girl, just keep hanging in there!

Hee. I keep thinking of our dog as Julia's daycare experience ... they play together and Echo helps Julia build her immune system (for dog diseases anyway)

And, oh my, yes! Dax is still not sleeping through the night (and we don't have his crib set up yet) so we can't put him in with Julia right now, but he's about to be banished to the Pack N Play in the living room so I don't hear his noises unless he really means it!
