New Shoes

Our Girl has some brand new shoes for her feet. We found two pairs at Marshall's, but one of them was SO hard to put on and her foot didn't seem to fit down into the shoe. So we didn't buy those. Instead we got her these cute little black and cream ones ...
We had her try them on in the store and even made her walk around in them. The progression went like this:
  1. Julia sits in the cart while we put the shoes on.
  2. After one shoe is on, Julia starts grabbing at the toe of that shoe and crying.
  3. Get the other shoe on and take Julia out of the cart.
  4. Put Julia on the ground where she immediately falls to hands and knees and cries louder.
  5. Dave grabs one hand and I take the other and we lift her up onto her feet.
  6. With us holding her hands, Julia is willing to walk up and down the aisle a few steps without any tears. Sometimes she just lets her feet drag the ground and we end up pulling her.
  7. Let go of Julia's hands and try to get her to walk a few steps to us on her own.
  8. Julia drops down to hands and knees and starts crying.
So she's still not a lover of the shoes. We're going to work on it a little each day and see if we can't get this girl in some footwear! (We bought a size 5 which is a little big on her, but the size 4 seemed too small.) We'll get some pictures of her wearing the shoes soon.

You should get the faux crocs at Payless...they are a little less confining and they are rubbery so they won't rub on her feet. Oh..and they are on sale because they are summery shoes. I'll let you try Mekenzie's when we come over to your house next week. Maybe if she seems Mekenzie wearing shoes she might want to wear them too.
