Mmmmm ... Cheerios

We started offering Julia Cheerios as a way to keep her busy while we prepare and/or eat our meals.

The first time, I don't think any made it into her mouth. She enjoyed watching Echo race to the dropped ones and slurp those up.

Now, she picks them up in her fist and then sticks her thumb in her mouth as if to suck it from her fist, through her thumb, into her mouth. It's very frustrating for her. Even more so because sometimes it works! Every once in a while her thumb is so drooly that a Cheerio gets stuck on it and when she sticks her thumb in her mouth ... voila! A Cheerio is there to be devoured! But that doesn't happen every time so it makes her sad.

Of the few that make it into her mouth, only about 10% of the Cheerio gets eaten. She gums it for a while and then ends up spitting most of it out. It's pretty funny to watch.

Best of all, it keeps her occupied!
