Good Ol' Days

I'm trying to at least get a start on organizing our Room of Shame this weekend. Part of that is going through the boxes that Mom and Dad dropped off ages ago, before Julia was born. My childhood crammed into two cardboard file boxes. It's been interesting. Most of the stuff is (to me) trash. I need Mom to talk me through it to make sure I'm not tossing an heirloom or something with huge amounts of sentimental value. I also need another Rubbermaid container so I can pack it all away and toss it into the attic.
Meanwhile, some things I did recognize (Edited to include my mom's comments):

Set of steak knives I won playing Bingo. I won these when I was four or five years old. It was a playoff with an older lady who got really mad because she didn't think I was playing by myself. I was.

My baby bracelet and locket. I've seen these in my six-month pictures.

I don't know if I remember wearing this art smock or if I've just seen pictures. This gets passed down to Julia. Nana made this for my mom. She got the pattern from Grandpa Cochran.

Scariest kangaroo toy ever. (This I do remember. We played with it a lot.) This was something my grandparents brought me from Australia when they lived overseas.

My belt. You can tell it's mine because it has my name on it. My Uncle Allen made this for me.
