I don't think that's what they intended

Have you seen the new-ish Under Armour commercial? A montage of football players running through their various agility exercises, dressed from head to toe in Under Armour, occasionally looking intently at the camera and monotoning "Click. Clack."
Dave started it, but now I can't stop my brain from finishing off each one with a "Moooo!"
It ruins the effect of the message.
But, if you are looking for a good gift for a young'un, Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin is a great book. It works as a read-aloud for pre-literate tykes, but the vocabulary is simple enough that beginning readers could read it on their own with minimal prompting. If nothing else, show a child what a typewriter is.

It hadn't occurred to me until this post that The Peanut has another reason to be lucky to have you as a mom - they will have the best collection of children's literature to read, and someone who genuinely enjoys the books to read with them.

*smirk* It's true. I won't deny that my kid is incredibly lucky. :P When it's fourteen and screaming how much it hates me, I'll just say "Call your Aunt Jamie. She'll tell you how awesome a mom I am." hee.

Yeah, the response, "Your mom gave you a lot of awesome books when you were growing up, you know," should have a huge impact on their belief that they SHOULD be allowed to date at 14, ha. :)
