Why I Love This Time Of Year

Washing Our Farmers' Market Finds:

Eating Our Produce:

She gobbled about half a pint of blueberries when I wasn't watching.
And that's a half-eaten raw green bean in front of her.

After months of offering green veggies to her she has finally started eating them ... sort of.

At least they don't get tossed directly over board anymore.

She tastes them first.

(I have discovered that she'll munch on any vegetable as long as she gets to help wash it and is offered it directly out of the sink.)

My Caprese salad.
We found some delicious milk from a family-run dairy here in Knoxville, Cruze Dairy.

Maybe next time I'll make my own mozzarella.

And Dax isn't left out, either. We bought some butternut squash from The Good Earth Farmers and made a batch of puree for him to eat. We also made applesauce from the Honeycrisp apples for him!
