We are headed to Hattiesburg on Saturday to spend a week with my parents. Grandma and Grandpa Brown will be up from Florida so this is a perfect opportunity to let them meet their new great-grandson. I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of Grandma and Grandpa Steele as well. My brother and Jenny will be around for the weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing how she looks growing my nephew!
Before we leave, we've got an appointment at the ENT for Dax's tongue, Dave has a trip to NO and I'm baking tons of graham crackers for the trip! (Plus cleaning the house, doing laundry and packing) All that to say there will be a bit lacking over here on our blog. But when we get back we should have fun pictures of Julia and Dax: First Beach Trip to share :)

how exactly do you bake graham crackers?
Oh, man. It is the most fabulous recipe from a great book I have called Petit Appetit
about making baby foods. The book goes way beyond blending up fruits and veggies ...
GRAHAM CRACKERS
Mix together
1 cup graham or whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teas. baking power
Cut in
1 stick (1/4 pound) butter
Stir in
1/2 cup honey (I use raw honey which gives them a ton of flavor.)
Stir in
1/4 cup milk
Roll out on (very) well-floured surface. Cut into squares or with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Poke holes in them with a fork, then brush with milk. Bake at 400 for somewhere around 10 minutes.
The cookies are great. The uncooked dough is even better :) And with no raw eggs I don't have to worry about Julia eating it! Well, only about the tummy ache after she eats too much!
Impressive. I once aspired to bake crackers. But we won't talk about that. Ya'll have a grrrrreat trip to the beach! Looking forward to pics...
