Bouldin Happenings

1. Joanna has her computer back! Yea! (I was apparently the talk of the Apple store employees with my Mystery Science Theater 3000 decal on my iMac. When the guy brought my computer out, the other employees standing around said, "Oh, YOU'RE the one with the MST3K computer everyone's been talking about!" Cool points for me! It must have been a slow week there.)

2. Grandma Steele came through twice in one week. She took a trip with a church group up to the Northeast and they stopped in Knoxville for the night both coming and going. It was great to see her and she enjoyed seeing Julia :) She brought Julia a cute dress with a big "J" embroidered on the front that all the nursery ladies just loved when Julia wore it to church. No pictures because I forgot to get my camera.

3. Julia tried on her new shoes. We get the feeling she's not too crazy about them.

I don't like them!

4. We went to the Oakes Farm Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch and Hayride with our friends, the Herrings. The corn maze was rather puny due to lack of rain and we weren't sure the strollers would make it through anyway so we just did the hayride to the pumpkin patch where the girls could pick out a pumpkin. It was very dusty and extremely crowded since we accidentally went on "Family Fun Day," but the girls were troopers even during the long wait in line to go on the hayride.

5. Julia has been working on her balance. She will turn with her back to the couch and stand with her rear end barely touching the couch. So far, nothing has been able to convince her that it would be fun to try walking a few steps. She's still willing to just drop to all fours and crawl.

6. Julia prefers to drink from a cup with a straw rather than a sippy cup. After weeks of trying to help her figure out the sippy cup, I realized that she could drink from a straw just fine. It sometimes takes Mom a bit to catch on, but we've bought her some spill-proof cups with straws and she enjoys using them.

Hmmmm ... what do I think?

7. We keep talking about how big Julia is, but then she goes and starts to play with my tennis shoe and we notice that she's still pretty little :)

8. My baby belly is still pretty little as well, but we took a picture for the scrapbook.

Week 18

9. I'll let you know when I get all the pictures up on Flickr. We've taken over 200 since my computer was in the shop so there's a lot to sort through. Meanwhile, Laura has some of their pictures up from the visit to Oakes Farm. Click here to check them out!
