You should read My French Kitchen: A Book of 120 Treasured Recipes by Joanne Harris. Her novels are some of my favorites, and she uses/describes food in them so beautifully - she has a real love for cooking and ingredients, and this book has been on my "read it" list forever. I've been curious to read about her own cooking experiences.
I'll add it to my list.
