I went over to my friend Jana's house yesterday for some company, food and to meet her new dog, Steinway. (Steinway's two years old so I guess she's technically not a new dog, but a new-to-Jana dog.) We pooled our resources for lunch and were completely overwhelmed at the amount of food available: veggies and dip, fruit and dip, bagels, and cookies. Yummy.
Steinway will be a great role model for Echo. We sat down to eat, and she went to lie on the floor by the back door. No begging. (Echo would probably beg less if I quit feeding her my food ... hee.)
After lunch, Jana and I talked in the living room while Steinway trotted around keeping track of things. When she sits, she crosses her legs just like a little lady:
Jana adopted Steinway last Friday from the Adopt-A-Pet on Bearden Hill run by the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley. That's the same place we got Echo! Steinway is a beagle/sheltie mix. She was so sweet and calm ... until Jana took her outside and Steinway scented a rabbit! Then she went nuts! It was pretty funny. Jana teaches piano to 45 or so lucky kids in Knoxville. So, she picked out the perfect name for Steinway!
