Home Depot's selection was pretty pathetic, and Northern Tool's Torin brand tool chests were impressive, but too expensive. Eventually, after re-visiting Sears and comparing ball bearing slides versus "Easy Glide" slides, Dave decided on the Kobalt tool chest set at Lowe's. He got the six-drawer base and four-drawer top. If he fills that up, I guess we'll have to get one of the middle Craftsman chests from Sears.
If you look at the dimensions on the base, you might wonder how it would fit in our car. And you would have been a step ahead of us. Fortunately, as we stood around the car and cart scratching our heads trying to figure out how to get the tool chests home, a nice older man asked if we needed help. When he learned we were just a couple of miles from our house, he offered to take the boxes in his truck. We're hoping he'll show up some time today. Just kidding. He told Dave that his daughter would probably fuss at him when he got home because she doesn't like him helping people out by giving them rides. Apparently he's helped out some real nut jobs. I hope we were respectable enough.
A funny aside: We had to take a small detour in our neighborhood because as we drove up the street, a young lady backed straight out of her driveway and stopped, blocking the entire road. She got out of her car and told me "I ran out of gas. I'll have to get someone from inside to give me a push." I suggested that after this she not let the gauge get below a quarter of a tank, did a u-turn and took an alternate route. Dave helped push her back into her driveway.

Anyway, Dave's got the tool chest set up and most of the drawer liners in. Doesn't it look lovely? :) Of course, now the weather is supposed to turn warm and he'll be busy with lawn work!
